Mobisol Marketing Manager Allan Rwechungura said in Dar es Salaam at the weekend that the campaign targets to improve lives of hundreds of thousands of Tanzanians living in off grid areas -- particularly those in rural areas where power supply is still a problem -- by enabling them to access affordable solar power.
“This new campaign is part of our efforts to complement the Government’s ambitious plan to ensure that the rural population has access to affordable power,” he said.
He added: “We have reduced our connection cost and extended our convenient payment system that enables people to pay in instalments to further regions.”
The new campaign will enable rural households to pay in affordable instalments to achieve ownership of the reliable and safe energy source installed directly on their houses. Mobisol is one of the leading companies that provide affordable high quality solar systems designed in Germany.
He elaborated that Mobisol has revised their offering and payment plan that will enable customers to only pay as little as 999/- per day to own a high quality solar power system at their homes, enjoying full service and after sales warranty.
The system sizes offered start at 80W, which is already bigger than most other household oriented solar home systems in the region, and are available in 120W and up to 200W.
The systems can illuminate entire households with many efficient LED lights and power various items including TVs, laptops, fridges and cell phones. “One of our objectives is to enable children studying in rural areas where there is no power to have light which empowers them to increase their educational opportunities.
“We are also focusing on conserving the environment -- while, at the same time, the electricity we provide offers an opportunity for people to utilise it for various income generating activities which improve their economic well-being,” he added.
He also noted that the company is committed to see its services accessed by more people in this year and the expansion programme would touch Kagera, Tabora, Dodoma, Coast regions and more regions being added continuously.
Until the end of last year, Mobisol had already provided clean, reliable solar power to over 35,000 households in Tanzania and the neighbouring country of Rwanda.
