Chinese-built railways in Africa become model of cooperation: FM

Kenya among top UN suppliers, got Sh44bn

Kenya was among the top 10 suppliers of goods and services to the UN last year, raking in Sh43.9 billion in these deals, a new report shows.   The country emerged the top African supplier to the global organisation, accounting for 2.5 per cent of the total procurement volume.   The report – Annual Statistical Reporting – states Kenya supplied goods worth Sh13.9 billion and services worth Sh30 billion.   "Procurement from Kenya consisted primarily.... Feature: Kenyan farmer uses music to boost milk production

Improving patient access to kidney transplantation

 The government is partnering with Kenya Renal Association to device a programme that will increase the country’s capacity to conduct daily kidney transplants.   The joint venture programme which will be rolled out before the end of the year is expected to reduce the cost of treatment to save many Kenyans who have been seeking the services overseas.     A working group will meet next month to develop the programme guidelines on how the patients will be.... Tanzania: 35 Billion/ - Project to End Water Woes in Mwanza

Mwanza — Implementation of 14.5 million Euro (about 35bn/-) water project will soon start in Mwanza's Ilemela Municipality under the European Investment Bank funding. Tanzania Rural Electrification Program to Reach 7,873 Villages in 5 Years

The Tanzania Rural Energy Agency (REA) recently announced the beginning of implementation of the Rural Electrification Program Phase III. In its 3rd phase, the project aims to electrify more than 7,873 villages in rural Tanzania over the next 5 years. 7,697 villages will be connected to the national grid, while the remaining 176 will be connected to other energy sources.
