East Africa: Tanzania Joins List for Ethiopian Electricity Sales

 Addis Ababa — Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation (EEP) last week announced Tanzania will buy 400MW of hydro-power processed electricity writes SAM OKWAKOL   According to the Ethiopian News Agency, the agreement between the two countries will be finalised in the coming weeks.   EEP's Chief Executive Officer, Eng. Tanzania: Experts Hail Oil, Gas Extraction Strategies

Kenya signs nuclear power deal with South Korea

 Kenya’s nuclear energy bid received a major boost after signing an agreement with the Korea Electric Power Corp (KEPCO).    The company and the Kenya Nuclear Electricity Board (KNEB) signed an MoU to cooperate on construction of nuclear projects and sharing expertise. Africa: Donors Set Aside U.S.$24 Billion for African Health

Tea farmers earnings up 32pc to Sh84bn

 Tea farmers are set for improved earnings after sales for the year 2015/2016 jumped 32 per cent on higher production and a stable currency.   The farmers' marketing agency, Kenya Tea Development Agency (KTDA), has announced Sh84 billion in revenue this year, up from Sh63.5 billion last year.   The growers will earn Sh44 billion on average as the final payment, normally referred to as a bonus. Over 130 surgeries performed at the new Kenneth Matiba Eye and Dental Hospital
