Tanzania: AfDB Approves $870,000 for Off-grid Energy Promotion

The African Development Bank has approved a $870,000 grant to promote off-grid electricity generation in Tanzania.   The grant, announced yesterday, was approved under the Sustainable Energy for Africa facility, which is funded by the governments of Denmark, the UK, the US and Italy.   The money will go towards funding private sector clean energy projects, with a view to improving access to electricity in rural areas of the East African country.   National energy.... Tanzania: Diesel, Kerosene Prices Lowered, Petrol Price Slightly Up

The Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA) has lowered cap prices for diesel and kerosene and slightly increased petrol prices for January in line with changes in prices of petroleum products in the world market.   The energy regulator announced yesterday that retail prices for diesel and kerosene have decreased by 66/- per litre or 3.68 per cent and 37/- per litre or 2.11 per cent respectively to provide huge relief to the transport industry and domestic....
