The Government Initiates a Water Project of 37.55 Billion in Mwanza

More than 85,468 people in the Mwanza Region will have better access to clean and safe water because to the government-funded 37.55 billion/-piped water project that connects Ukiliguru, Kolomije, and Usagara to Sumve in Misungwi District. The project is currently 46% complete.

The project is a part of initiatives to bring dependable water supplies closer to communities, which will lessen the strain on homes who rely on far-off or unreliable sources and reduce the distance inhabitants must drive to obtain water.

Speaking on behalf of President Samia Suluhu Hassan on Tuesday, Mr. Paul Makonda, Minister for Information, Arts, Culture, and Sports, stated that the government is still dedicated to carrying out significant water projects to increase access to vital services.

He urged those in charge of implementation to finish the project on time so locals could start reaping the benefits of the investment, adding that the proposed distribution network will reach places like Kolomije and Bugomba.

For women and girls, who frequently shoulder a large portion of the burden of water collection, access to dependable water is especially crucial.
