US$1.2bn new fertilizer production plant to be built in Kenya

The Government of Kenya has signed an agreement with Toyota Tsusho Corporation, which will see the global car maker construct a US$1.2bn fertilizer plant in Eldoret, Kenya. Uganda: 13 firms bid for JLOS House construction

The justice ministry has been receiving bids since June 12 when they announced expression of interest for construction of the complex to be called JLOS House. The complex will be constructed under a Public, Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement, according to a statement from JLOS. Kenya: NHC to Build 40 Housing Units in Kisii

THE National Housing Corporation will construct 40 housing units in Kisii Town. NHC general manager in charge of technical operations Willis Ouma said the two bedroom units will be built at Nyanchwa estate in the outskirts of Kisii town. Bagamoyo Port construction starts this year

Africa:Study Establishes Significant Climate Benefit Of Solar Lighting Products

 A new research study published by the IFC-World Bank Lighting Global program finds that replacing all kerosene lamps in use with solar lights would reduce the equivalent of 5 percent annual greenhouse gas emissions in the United States, or 12 percent of India’s annual emissions.   The study confirms that modern solar lighting products designed for low income families without access to grid electricity are far more energy efficient than widely used kerosene.... US$ 533m Kariba power project in Zimbabwe kicks off

US-based Louis Berger to construct US$ 9.0m section of Yaounde-Douala highway in Cameroon

US $80m Zim Plant in Zimbabwe to be completed by 2016

Construction of the cement plant, Zim in Zimbabwe, will be completed by 2016 according to PPC Zimbabwe division. The plant will all cost US$ 80m upon completion.
