Ethiopia's First Trams Unveiled in China

The first of 41 trams being built for the two-line network under construction in Addis Abeba was unveiled at CNR Changchun’s plant in China on August 26. The trams were ordered in March 2014 and are scheduled to be delivered by January, being shipped via Tianjin and Djibouti with a journey time of about 50 days. Angolan Airlines Partners Lufthansa To Boost Country-to-country Flights

RBPlat to invest in $250.9m housing project - Phase II for its workers

South Africa’s mining company, Royal Bafokeng Platinum will, in the next five years, invest over US$250m to complete Phase two of the employee housing development scheme for its workers. Two new hospitals to be built in Mozambique at US$ 30m

Two new hospitals are set to be constructed in Sofala Province, Mozambique at a cost of US$ 30m. This follows a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Dutch, French and Mozambican governments. One of the hospitals will be built in Beira, which is the nation’s capital. US$ 5.9m upgrade of Kamembe airport in Rwanda to start November

Refurbishment and renovation of Kamembe Airport in Western Province of Rwanda, is set to start off this November. The renovations are set to help decongest the facility and accommodate big aircrafts, according to The Rwanda Civil Aviation Authority (RCAA) communications manager, Tony Barigye. Housing units worth USD 550m for Tanzania's defense forces to be constructed

Tanzania government has signed a US$ 550m concessional loan agreement with the Chinese Government for construction of 12,000 new housing units for the country’s military. The houses are going to be constructed at various towns and cities in Tanzania. AfDB loans Burundi US$29.49m for road improvement and asphalting project

The African Development Bank (AfDB) has approved a grant of US$29.49 m to Burundi to carry on with the Phase 1 of the Nyakararo-Mwaro-Gitega Road Improvement and Asphalting Project. This report was issued on Friday last week. Infrastructure improvement works pertains to a 30-kilometre-long Nyakararo-Mwaro-Kibumbu road, an undertaking that will see the country benefit from regional trade.
