Kenya-gets-sh1-5b-for-solar-projects

  Kenya has received more than Sh1.5 billion to tackle effects of climate change, Environment Principal Secretary Richard Lesiyampe has said. Tanzania: Shilling Ends Year Slightly Stronger

 THE shilling traded with a slightly heavier bias in the last days of 2014 to close at a stronger position, despite losing ground by over 8.0 per cent in full year. Kenya: Cement Production Rises As Construction Thrives

 Production of cement, a key construction material, surged past half a million tonnes last July as 11-month tally surpassed full-year figures for the previous two years, latest data show.A total of 500,428 tonnes were manufactured in the month, pushing total production by end of November to 5.21 million tonnes. Kenya: Murang'a Project to Give Nairobi 140 Million Litres of Water

Tanzania: Bunge Committee Hails Nkasi Irrigation Project

 Namanyere — MEMBERS of the Parliamentary Local Authorities' Accounts Committee (LAAC) hailed Nkasi District Council for constructing Lwafi/Katongolo irrigation scheme which will benefit about 40,000 farmers from Kirando and Kipili ward in the area.The project will cost over 9.5bn/- upon completion. Tanzania: Beer Firm Supports Barley Farmers with Quality Seeds

Kenya Set to Brand Coffee Produce

Agriculture cabinet secretary Felix Koskei said that direct coffee sales will be introduced as a measure to liberalise the marketing system of the product.
