Kenya Power Customers to Get Loans to Fund New Connections

 KENYA Power is working with various financial institutions to give loans that will assist people to pay for new connections.

 
The firm's managing director Ben Chumo said it already has deals with locals banks such as National Bank, Jamii Bora bank, Equity bank and its own Stima loan for the connections.

Tanzania: Local Communities in Gas Producing Areas to Get Three Percent

Tanzania: Tarime to Construct 20 School Laboratories

 Tarime — TARIME District Council says it would successfully implement the directive by President Jakaya Kikwete to build laboratories in all public secondary schools within shortest possible time.

 
The council plans to start building a total of 20 laboratories any time from now. Aim is to have all the laboratories ready by November, this year, according to the Tarime District Council Chairman, Mr Amos Sagara.

Uganda Oil Levels Rise By 3 Billion Barrels

 Kampala — Uganda's oil and gas resource deposits have risen from 3.5 billion barrels to 6.5 billion barrels writes BAZ WAISWA.

Oil explorer Afren seeks clearance ahead of Wajir drilling

 London Stock Exchange-listed oil explorer Afren Plc has filed environmental disclosures ahead of drilling exploratory wells in Mandera and Wajir in the coming months. Nairobi, Dar to float tender for power line

 Kenya and Tanzania are to float a tender in September for the construction of a transmission line capable of transferring 2,400MW of electricity.

Uganda s crude oil reserves estimates nearly double in new adjustment

 Uganda’s petroleum exploration and production department has put its estimated crude oil reserves at 6.5 billion barrels from the previous 3.5 billion barrels.
