Gold Deliveries Up 50 Percent - Chidhakwa

Gold deliveries have increased by an average of 50% this year due to the plugging of leakages of the precious mineral, with focus now on improving the supply side for small scale gold miners, Mines minister Walter Chidhakwa has said.

Mineral leakages have cost the country billions of dollars in lost revenue, reducing official gold sales from 27 tonnes in 1999 to the current average of 12 tonnes per year.

Natural Gas Distribution Reaches Marracuene

Marracuene — Mozambique's National Hydrocarbon Company (ENH) on Wednesday connected its natural gas pipeline to its first client in Marracuene district, north of Maputo.

The client is the factory Favos de Mocambique, which makes egg cartons. From this factory, the distribution of gas will be extended to shops, hospitals, hotels and restaurants in Marracuene.

Kenya: KPC Secure Sh35 Billion for New Mombasa-Nairobi Pipeline

Kenya Pipeline Company has secured a $350million (Sh35.6 billion) loan to finance the construction of a new 450-kilometre oil pipeline from Mombasa to Nairobi.

The state owned oil distributor will upgrade to a 20 inch ultra-modern multi-product oil pipeline to replace the more than 30 year old - 14 inch pipeline currently in use.

Kenya Power has announced the successful deployment of the latest SAP Business Suite to enhance efficiency of local procurement processes.

Dangote Group set to deliver the second cement plant in Africa

Rosneft to supply EGAS with LNG

The oil major, which has no facilities to liquefy natural gas, will send at least 3.5 million tons of LNG to the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company. 24 cargoes will be supplied over a two-year period.
