Kenya is revising the country’s mining policy to lure more investment.
According to estimates, Kenya’s mining sector has the potential to contribute about 6.4 per cent to the country’s gross domestic product (GDP).
Chief Executive of Kenya’s Chamber of Mines Steven Mwakesi has hailed the current administration for prioritising the sector.

Construction of the Mass Rapid Transit System in Kenya which will cost US$ 4m is set to be launched in the capital Nairobi and will be fully funded by the National Treasury.
The acting Director-general of public debt management at the Treasury, Jackson Kinyanjui confirmed the reports and said that the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure accepted the proposal for the allocation of US$4m for the construction of the Mass Rapid Transit System.

Tanzania President Jakaya Kikwete is this week expected to launch gas processing facility and pipeline from Mtwara through Songo songo to Dar es Salaam according to Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC) managing director Dr. James Mataragio.
According to Mataragio construction works are already complete with pumping of gas already ongoing between Mtwara and Dar es Salaam.Already preparation activities for the launch are ongoing ahead of the event.

The county government has started distributing over 38 tonnes of maize, millet, sorghum and cowpeas to farmers in Mbeere North and Mbeere South. Governor Martin Wambora said the exercise will enable more farmers to access the input thus help to improve agricultural production in the county.
