Tanzania: 35 Billion/ - Project to End Water Woes in Mwanza

Mwanza — Implementation of 14.5 million Euro (about 35bn/-) water project will soon start in Mwanza's Ilemela Municipality under the European Investment Bank funding. Ilemela Municipal Director John Wanga said here over the weekend that the project, upon completion, will help to address water woes currently facing some parts of the municipality. Tanzania Rural Electrification Program to Reach 7,873 Villages in 5 Years

The Tanzania Rural Energy Agency (REA) recently announced the beginning of implementation of the Rural Electrification Program Phase III. In its 3rd phase, the project aims to electrify more than 7,873 villages in rural Tanzania over the next 5 years. 7,697 villages will be connected to the national grid, while the remaining 176 will be connected to other energy sources. Nairobi county, Safaricom in Sh4 billion partnership to provide Internet to homes

Sh12bn project to end power outages – CS

The construction of an alternative main power transmission line will restart soon and be complete by November to end nationwide power outages like the one experienced over the weekend. Singida Gold Production to Begin in Q1 2017

 Gold mining company Shanta Gold (AIM:SHG), will commence production at its Singida Gold Project in Tanzania, in Q1 2017. Singida is an advanced stage gold project, located in the Ikungi Administrative District, Singida Region, central Tanzania, with gold resource of 858,000 ounces (oz). Kenya: Sh28bn irrigation plans to boost food security

The US Government, through the US Agency for International Development (USAID), will invest USD407m in Tanzania in 2016. Banks back 1 000 MW coal fired power project in Kenya

Industrial & Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) and Standard Bank of South Africa have concluded a deal to finance a $2-billion, 1 000 MW Amu coal-fired power plant, in Kenya.   ICBC, which has committed $1.2-billion to the project, has a 20% stake in Standard Bank, which will make available $300-million for the project.   The coal plant is being constructed by a consortium of local and international firms under investment vehicle Amu Power Company, which will provide....
