Tullow Oil to haul oil in Kenya

 Tullow Oil’s Kenyan unit has said it is seeking trucking companies to transport crude from northwestern fields to the port city of Mombasa as the East African nation rushes to export its first oil by mid-2017.   The work will involve the trucking of crude in insulated containers from a production facility near Lokichar, Turkana county, to storage facilities run by Kenya Petroleum Refineries, Tullow Kenya said yesterday in an advertisement in the Nairobi-based Daily.... Completion of Kenya Outering road now set for September 2017

 The completion of the busy Nairobi’s outering road  is now set for September 2017, Kenya National Highways Authority(KeNHA) has said.   According to KeNHA officials the project haven’t been implemented about 64 kilometers hence bringing late by two and a half months.   Though the Chairman of the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA), Daniel Njora said that the delay was ‘normal’ and the implementation was delayed by relocating services.... Kenya: Construction of solar farm gets green light

The long awaited construction of East Africa’s largest solar power plant in northern Kenya is set to commence as Kenya Power agrees to a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement. Power plant developer, Rural Electrification Authority (REA), announced last week that it has concluded a PPA with Kenya Power to sell electricity generated from the solar farm at $0.12/kWh. South Africa backs India on solar sourcing

Kenyan Tycoon Naushad Merali Set To Open $30 Million Milk Factory

 Sameer Agriculture & Livestock Limited (SALL Kenya), a food processing company owned by Kenyan multimillionaire businessman Naushad Merali, is set to open a $30 million milk factory later this year in Kenya.   According to a report by Business Daily, SALL’s new dairy processing plant is currently being set up in Nakuru and will be operational by June next year. Tanzania: Traders Now Seek to Benefit From Improved Airport

Kenya, Korea sign pact to set up ICT hubs

 Kenya and Korea have signed an MoU to bolster growth of ICT in the country which will see the latter develop a technology institute at Konza technocity.   The deal signed by ICT CS Joe Mucheru and his Korean counterpart Choi Yanghee will see the two countries exchange ideas on how to change lives through ICT.   This will entail exchanges between government ministries, agencies, research and training institutes, businesses and other organisations in the two.... Equity firm Fanisi targets Sh10 billion in fundraising for regional investments

 Fanisi Capital, a private equity firm targeting start-ups, aims to raise between Sh7.6 billion ($75 million) and Sh10.13 billion ($100 million) in the second round fundraising for regional investments.   The fund targets enterprises in Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda.
