705 MW of Power Added To Tanzania's Power Grid by Elsewedy Electric of Egypt

The Julius Nyerere Hydroelectric Power Project (JNHPP) now produces 705 megawatts of power altogether thanks to the addition of three more hydro turbine generators that Egypt's Elsewedy Electric and The Arab Contractors jointly connected to Tanzania's national power grid.

The achievement, which was revealed during a visit to the JNHPP site by Tanzanian Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Minister Doto Biteko, represents a critical step in supplying the nation's electrical needs and stabilizing the national system.

Tanzania's energy supply has increased significantly with the successful connection of these units; as of right now, 705 MW of that estimated 2,115 MW comes from the JNHPP. According to Biteko, "Our ability to concentrate on stabilizing the infrastructure for energy transmission is enhanced by this progress, which guarantees a strong capacity for electricity generation."

The Tanzanian system is anticipated to have a surplus due to the increased power generation, which will lessen the country's need on fossil fuels and improve energy security. Elsewedy Electric's CEO of E&C, Wael Hamdy, a senior vice president, expressed delight in the company's contribution to Tanzania's energy industry.

Hamdy stated, "We are still meeting our commitments." We started providing Tanzania's grid with reliable power, in spite of several obstacles. Soon after, we replaced diesel-fired power with dependable green energy, thereby filling the gap in TANESCO's power need. Tanzanian load shedding has come to an end, and this also clears the path for TANESCO to become carbon neutral.

Elsewedy Electric is still dedicated to helping Tanzania's energy industry and giving all residents access to dependable, sustainable power.
