  • UNCTAD And TradeMark East Africa signed A US$3.1 Million Agreement Which Is Focused On Facilitating Trade In The Region

    On 4th July, the two organizations signed a US$3.1 million agreement for the second phase of a project focused on accelerating trade in the region.

    The first phase of the project was executed between 2016 and 2018 with a budget of $3.4 million.

    Tanzania is on a move to build a cable car service on Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's tallest peak and a world heritage site. 

    Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain in Africa, keeps the town of Moshi, Tanzania, alive with trade and tourism.

  • Dar es Salaam Port Improves Efficiency, surpassing the 330 container target

    The containers terminal department had set the 330 container target, within three shifts but now can handle over 600 containers, decreasing the time of vessels to stay at the port.

     
    The performance has eventually reduced costs of cargo vessels landing at the port, thanks to purchase of advanced machineries.

  • Kenya and Tanzania are pushing to resolve their long-standing trade disputes

    Trade officials from the two countries held bilateral meetings in Arusha, in April, to try and determine and solve the many disputable trade issues, including rules of origin for some products and constant suspicion over the quality of products traded all over the borders.
