TANESCO Power Project Extends Power Supply Across Africa

In order to exchange electricity effectively the state-owned power utility firm is currently undertaking the Kenya-Tanzania Power Interconnection Project (KTPIP).
The project includes building of a 400kV transmission line from Singida to Isinya in Kenya through Babati, Arusha and Namanga.

The Reppie thermal plant is being built in Ethiopia’s capital which will be commissioned by the beginning of 2018. It will incinerate approximately 1,400 tonnes of waste. This represents 80 percent of the city’s waste generation, accounting for 400,000 tonnes per year.
