Quantum Power Gas is enthusiastic in developing the Tema LNG importation storage, re-gasification and delivery facilities. The company is a subsidiary of Quantum power, a pan African energy and infrastructure industrial investment platform, and has signed a partnership agreement with Golar LNG to see completion of the project.
Golar is expected to provide some certain technical, engineering, design and construction of the required floating and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) storage and re-gasification unit, according to the agreement between the two.
The project is worth US$500m and has been developed for over 18 months with some of the world’s most experienced engineering teams, working closely to come up with the finest design that will be expected to respond to the specific maritime challenges faced by the Gulf of Guinea.
According to a report sign recently by Mr. Don Ackah, Chief Executive Officer of Quantum Power Gas, the project can save power producers more than a quarter of a billion dollars per year in fuel cost, and this would also help the economy greatly.
He further said, “We are pleased to have reached this milestone. For East Africas economy to grow, we need more electricity, which our facilities can help fuel at lower cost and with lower emissions.”
