NHIF's New Lindi Office Set to Boost Healthcare Access as Completion Nears

The Lindi Region's National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) has started building a new regional office, which is currently 94% finished, to make it simpler for people to receive healthcare services.

NHIF Regional Manager Irine Katarahiya stated in a statement, that the office, which will cost Sh 401 million in total, is being built in Rasibura Ward, Lindi Municipality.

Katarahiya claims that the office wants to increase the welfare of locals by increasing the effectiveness of the delivery of medical services and high-quality medical equipment through 302 health clinics located throughout the Lindi Region.

"The completion of this office will cost Sh 401 million and will significantly boost the delivery of healthcare services and quality medical supplies to the benefit of our people," stated Katarahiya.

Ismail Ally Ussi, the National Freedom Torch runner who lay the project's foundation stone, said the NHIF facility will aid in addressing the Lindi Region's healthcare issues.

"The construction of this NHIF building will help fast-track access to healthcare services, as they will now be closer to the people," stated Ussi.

The new office will bring services closer to the community, according to NHIF member Janeth Methew.

"This building will make it easier for citizens to access services quickly and we will no longer have to struggle to find the NHIF office as it is conveniently located by the roadside," stated Methew.

In Lindi Municipality, the National Freedom Torch travelled 128 km and visited, examined and witnessed six development projects totalling Sh 2 billion.
