Luanda — Africa is one of the regions of the world with major unexplored energetic reserves, which expands its chances to become one of the main energy producers.
This was said Tuesday in Luanda by the CEO of the National Electricity Company (ENE), José Carlos, while addressing the opening of the 18th Congress of the African Electricity Companies.
Jose Carlos said the challenges facing the continent in the energy sector must take into account renewable sources of power.
According to the manager, renewable sources of energy must be explored in a sustained way as to contribute to reduce poverty and social exclusion.
"We need to analyse the sector of energy in Africa to detail, so we can find the avenues to develop the renewable sources in a sustainable way," he stated.
He said he hopes the event that started Tuesday will produce positive results helping to improve the member countries' power production strategies
The official said that ENE, as a member organisation, hopes to share experiences of the Angolan reality with its counterparts.
