Using Ericsson Charging and Ericsson Mediation, together with Ericsson Dynamic Activation, MTN Group is developing and investigating new and inventive capabilities, including 5G and IoT use cases.

The collaboration paves the way for MTN Group's sustained success and expansion as it pursues its Ambition 2025 vision and moves closer to being a cloud-native organization.

In order to continue providing MTN with two key solutions from the Ericsson Business and Operations Support Systems portfolio—Ericsson Charging and Ericsson Mediation—Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) and MTN Group (JSE: MTN) have extended their collaboration. The Ericsson Network Management portfolio's Ericsson Dynamic Activation (EDA) is integrated with these solutions. Ericsson will supply these solutions to MTN's pan-African market for the next five years as part of the cooperation.

Through the agreement, MTN Group's Business Support Systems (BSS) ecosystem will be modernized, enabling best-in-class features and capabilities to support the exploration of new revenue streams and business models, including Internet of Things (IoT) and 5G.

As part of the accelerated implementation of MTN Group's Ambition 2025 strategy, which aims to build one of the largest and most valuable platforms using connectivity and infrastructure businesses for both mobile and fixed access networks across the consumer, enterprise, and wholesale segments, this partnership plays a significant role in advancing MTN Group's cloud-native transformation. It also fosters continued growth.

As part of the entire BSS environment, MTN will continue to use Ericsson Charging, Ericsson Mediation, and Ericsson Dynamic Activation with this deal. With Ericsson's continued support, MTN will have a strong foundation from which to expand and scale its services throughout Africa, generating and safeguarding revenue streams, improving billing precision and granularity, facilitating the launch of new services, guaranteeing revenue, and paving the way for data monetization through IoT and analytics readiness.

"We continue looking to elevate our technological infrastructure and offer pioneering services in our markets to our customers while achieving cost efficiency through our expansive scale," says Mazen Mroue, Chief Technology and Information Officer of MTN Group. The ongoing partnership with Ericsson has been crucial in advancing standardization, innovation and improved operational effectiveness. With the recent deal with Ericsson, MTN can now leverage the transformational power of cloud computing, which will help us achieve the goals specified in our Ambition 2025 strategy. This is a big milestone. This calculated action demonstrates our dedication to adopting cutting-edge technology that improve customer satisfaction and promote long-term success.

"As we continue to evolve and expand our partnership with MTN Group, we are committed to collaborating and providing the latest technology solutions that will help MTN operating companies to capture and secure revenue streams while delivering improved services to their customers," states Hossam Kandeel, vice president and head of Ericsson Middle East and Africa's global customer unit and customer unit MTN Africa. Our portfolio of business and operations support systems is built to give communication service providers the adaptability and agility they need to meet shifting client needs. We are pleased to ink this deal and work with MTN Group to propel digitalization throughout Africa, develop new 5G business models and provide exceptional customer experiences.

MTN Group is in a unique position to unlock new revenue streams and capitalize on emerging opportunities in the consumer and enterprise markets thanks to Ericsson's range of powerful, reliable, agile and flexible business and operations support systems and network management systems. This long-term collaboration provides a solid basis for future development and success.
