TANZANIA is expected to adopt 'Halali Certification logo' next year, a move that will boost the export and national economy. Speaking to reporters yesterday, the National Muslim Council of Tanzania (BAKWATA) general secretary, Selemani Lolila said Tanzania traders will be able to export products to more than 30 countries after adopting the logo.

Halali is a logo, which is stamped to products that have been prepared according to Islamic law.

Mr Lolila said that Halali certification will enable Tanzanian traders to export products to various Arabic countries and thus boost the nation's economy.

"Many Arabic countries do not use products that do not carry Halali logo, therefore this certification will help Tanzanians to boost their business by winning more markets," he said. The Tanzania Halal Certification Director, Mr Muhsin Hosein said the certification help traders to meet exportation requirements.

"Halali certification will help to boost exportation and enable traders to reach many markets in various countries," he said.
