The acquisition complements Resource Mining Corporation's (RMC) existing six nickel-copper project areas in the same belt. Australia-based RMC has acquired the Mpanda and Mbozi copper-gold projects in Tanzania. The agreement positioned RMC in a major multi-element resource location beneath the Ubendian Orogenic Belt in western Tanzania. It was carried out through the purchase of a 75% share in Vancouver Mineral Resources (VMR), a Tanzanian business. The acquisition increases the possibility of uncovering new significant mineral discoveries in addition to completing RMC's six nickel-copper project areas within the same belt. The Mpanda and Mbozi projects are located in highly prospective regions, with copper mining currently taking place in the Mpanda Mineral Field since the 1930s.
The Mpanda Project's tenements are situated along a strike from the active Singililwa Mine, which is renowned for mining high-grade copper. BHP first investigated the high-grade copper Luez Hill project, which is located upstrike from the tenements that were bought, as part of the Mbozi Project. Major copper anomalies within geological units have been identified by preliminary soil surveys and field mapping, suggesting the possibility of substantial mineralization potential. The acquisition of the Mpanda and Mbozi Cu-Au [copper-gold] properties is something we are extremely excited to announce, In addition to our ongoing Ni-Cu [nickel-copper] projects, we want to investigate, says RMC executive chairman Asimwe Kabunga. Significant anomalies within the suitable geology and along strike have already been discovered by recent fieldwork, and the new projects are situated along strike from some of Tanzania's most important Cu-Au finds. We can now fully utilise the advantages of our in-country knowledge and skilled people as we broaden our base of exploration and keep looking for significant key mineral discoveries.
