Kenya is set to train Liberian health workers in specialized health services

 Kenya will offer training opportunities in specialized health services to Liberia, Health Cabinet Secretary, Dr. Cleopa Mailu has said.

 
The CS said Kenya will increase Liberia’s capacities by training health workers in institutions of higher learning in the field of radiology, epidemiology, laboratory and anesthesia.
 
The CS made the remarks when he held bilateral talks with Liberian Minister for Health, Dr. Bernice Dahn on the sidelines of the 66th WHO Regional Committee for Africa in Ethiopia, on Tuesday.
 
The Liberian Health Minister, Dr. Dahn thanked Kenya for the support accorded to her country during the Ebola outbreak noting that Kenya has well trained health workers with a wide mix of experience.
 
During the event the Health CS also met the TICAD Regional Director, Dr. Matshiditso Moeti and updated her on the TICAD VI preparations.
 
The Cabinet Secretary reiterated Kenya’s willingness to be a regional communications hub because of its requisite infrastructure and manpower.
 
The Cabinet Secretary welcomed Dr. Moeti to the Universal Health Coverage for Africa side event to be cohosted by Kenya and Japan where she will be the session moderator including the Spouses programme on the future of women and girls in Africa, a side event on Maternal Health by UNFP and as a speaker to the Business Forum.
