  • Northern Kenya areas chosen to host regional crude oil pipeline

     The regional crude oil pipeline from Kabaale, in western Uganda will pass through Kainuk and Lokichar in Turkana County, Isiolo and Garissa counties to Lamu port, the contractor picked to carry out the project feasibility study has told the Government.

  • Policy on LPG awaits Kenya Cabinet, Parliament approval

    A draft policy document that aims to shift Kenyan household energy needs from unsustainable options like firewood and charcoal to cleaner modern forms like Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG), is ready.

     
    The policy also seeks to encourage private sector investment in additional capacity for handling and storage of LPG for an efficient and effective supply chain.

     Wentworth Resources says it estimates that monthly gas sales in Tanzania into new government owned pipeline Q3 2015 could reach an estimated $3.5m monthly.

  • SOCO reviewing options for offshore Congo discovery

    SOCO International is discussing commercialization options for its offshore Lidongo X Marine-101 exploration well with the Republic of Congo authorities.

    The government has asked for the results of the well to be presented as a production license application format. SOCO says preparations are under way and the company expects to issue formal submission by the end of 3Q 2015.
