Dar es Salaam — Total Tanzania yesterday launched a contest that seeks to award initiators of good business ideas.
Dubbed 'Startupper of the year by Total', the initiative will see top three winners going home with a total of Sh70 million.
The top winner will be receive Sh35 million, while the second and the third winners will get Sh20 million and 15 million respectively, the petroleum market and service company said in Dar es Salaam yesterday.
The contest aims at identifying, rewarding and providing support for the best business creation and business development projects to promote social and economic development of Tanzania.
"The project pertains to a new business start-up that must be created in Tanzania and implemented within a maximum period of six months," noted the Total Tanzania Head of Legal and corporate affairs, Ms Marsha Kilewo.
She said the winning projects will be granted the Startupper of the year 2016 by Total label, with a financial support and a coaching from Total Tanzania.
The project, according to her, also pertains to a business that is less than two years and is currently being developed in Tanzania.
