Meta partnered directly with 6,113 smallholder farmers in Arsi, West Arsi and South West Shewa Zones, providing training, interest free pre-financing, quality seeds and fertiliser, along with a number of other impactful inputs for the cultivation of high quality barley.

The Company has partnered with the Ethiopian Agricultural Transformation Agency, the Oromia Agriculture Commercialisation Cluster, Oromia Bureau of Agriculture, Technoserve, Syngenta, , Nyala Insurance, and local distributors.

In December 2014, Meta announced, in line with the Ethiopian government's stance in favour of import substitution, that it will source 100% of all cereal raw material needs in Ethiopia locally, in time for its 50th Anniversary, by the end of 2017.
