Tanzanian traders urged to tap EAC, SADC and AfCFTA markets

Posted on : Monday , 2nd November 2026

Dennis Londo, Tanzania's Deputy Minister for Industry and Trade, has called on traders to leverage regional markets such as the EAC, SADC, and AfCFTA to broaden their product sales.

During the closing of the fourth Business and Investment Forum, which featured 200 chief executive officers and directors, Londo made the remarks.

He stated that meeting serves a crucial role for company directors and business leaders, facilitating the sharing of experiences and the investigation of opportunities in both regional and international markets.

Londo observed that Tanzania belongs to both the EAC and SADC and is progressing toward the African Continental Free Trade Area, so businesses must prepare adequately to engage effectively in these markets.

He stated that the Ministry of Industry and Trade would persist in fostering a supportive business climate and partnering with the private sector to broaden trader prospects, thereby aiding national economic development.

The Deputy Minister urged companies to boost their capabilities, elevate the quality and market competitiveness of locally made products, and capitalize on growing trade prospects throughout the African continent.
