PSL Machinery and the Tanzanian Cashewnut Board Execute a PPP Deal.

Posted on : Friday , 10th October 2025

Via the Cashewnut Board of Tanzania (CBT), Vietnam's PSL Machinery and the Tanzanian government have formally inked a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) agreement.

PSL Machinery will supply sophisticated processing lines, transfer state-of-the-art technology, and offer thorough workforce training as part of this deal, laying the groundwork for Tanzania's high-potential industry to undergo a full-scale modernization.

This arrangement, according to PSL Machinery, represents a major strategic partnership with the goal of revolutionizing and sustainably growing Tanzania's cashew sector. Together with the top cashew cooperatives in the nation, the Tanzanian government realized that they needed a partner with the ability and know-how to provide comprehensive solutions. These consist of long-term technical support, labor training, machinery manufacturing, plant design, and strategic consultancy. Vietnam, the top cashew processing hub in the world today, was chosen as the best partner due to its vast experience, and PSL Machinery, a division of PSL Group, was chosen to work with Tanzania on this industry update.

Senior government representatives, PSL Machinery executives, and representatives of Tanzania's biggest cashew cooperatives, such as the Ruangwa Nachingwea Liwale Cooperative Union (RUNALI), Masasi Mtwara Cooperative Union (MAMCU), and Tandahimba Newala Cooperative Union (TANECU), attended the signing ceremony. These cooperatives represent tens of thousands of cashew farmers and play a crucial role in the value chain. Their presence highlights how crucial it is to guarantee that the advantages of this PPP reach the sector's foundational farming communities as well as industrial development at the national level.

PSL Machinery is a leader in the design and production of cutting-edge processing lines that satisfy international standards, having more than 20 years of experience in the whole cashew value chain. In addition to machinery, the company provides local personnel training, technology transfer, on-site factory consultancy, and operational optimization, guaranteeing that partners not only have access to cutting-edge technology but also fully understand production processes for long-term success.

The project intends to greatly increase Tanzania's domestic processing capacity, facilitate value addition at the source, lessen dependency on exports of raw cashews, raise the proportion of high-value processed products, and generate long-term employment through technology transfer and training within the PPP framework. Furthermore, it will make Tanzania's cashew industry more globally competitive.

The Cashew Board of Tanzania (CBT) Director General Francis Alfred said, "Vietnamese-made machinery always performs exceptionally well. In addition to importing machinery, our collaboration with PSL Machinery aims to establish the groundwork for Tanzania's cashew sector to grow stronger and become self-sufficient.

A spokesperson for PSL Machinery stated: "This agreement stands as a clear testament to global confidence in Vietnam's innovation capabilities and the expanding role of Vietnamese enterprises in shaping the future of global agricultural industries."

This is a significant milestone for PSL Machinery, which aims to empower emerging markets to confidently integrate and compete globally by showcasing Vietnam's manufacturing strengths, technology, and knowledge. This accomplishment, which was highlighted in a VTV1 news report, emphasizes its importance even more as PSL Machinery maintains its position as a leader in technology transfer and international collaborations from Vietnam to Africa, enhancing the Vietnamese brand and influencing the direction of machinery production on the world industrial map.
