BUILDEXPO RWANDA 2017 - AFRICA'S MEGA BUILDING & CONSTRUCTION EVENT

Posted on : Wednesday , 6th September 2017

Last year the construction sector in Rwanda was flourishing, so the players in Rwanda’s construction sector are positive for it to be replicated in 2017.

There are some very big projects to be kicked off soon. The Bugesera airport is one example of a major project which is set to become a transportation hub for the East African region and there are many other projects like this in the pipeline.

Although the demand and supply sides are yet to be reconciled, the increasing capital spending by the private sector and government has thrust the sector into a position of driving economic development.

According to RDB, construction spending in 2015 was $546 million, growing at 10 per cent, while real estate spending was $471 million, growing at 7 per cent.

The construction industry contributes more than seven per cent to the national GDP. Private and public works were growing at 9.4 per cent starting 2014.

The free entry and exit nature of the sector has enabled many foreign firms to enter the construction market. Firms from China, Turkey and other places are winning big tenders, a dynamic which has had an impact on local players, and driven the sector gains.

A market full of opportunity will be underlined by BuildExpo Rwanda 2017, where more than 130 exhibitors from 22 countries will showcase their latest wares to thousands of trade buyers and decision makers from throughout the Middle East, Africa, and further afield.

Taking place from November 22 to 24 at The Kigali Convention Center, the annual three-day event will arrive with the biggest aftermarket brands on-board, spread over 15 product categories, to name a few Building Material; Mining; Lighting; Glass; Steel and Aluminum; Hardware and Tools; Machinery and Equip etc…

With more than 130 exhibitors combined, Building Material, and Mining comprise the largest portion of BuildExpo Rwanda 2017.

Ms. Clare Akamanzi, Rwanda Development Board CEO is also very excited to have Expogroup organize Buildexpo at their nation; she said “The Government of Rwanda is privileged to partner with Expogroup to host BuildExpo Africa 2017 in Kigali, Rwanda. This event is a vital part of our mission to showcase Rwanda as a key destination to do business. Rwanda has special fascination to visitors; we are delighted to welcome all participants to this event. The Government of Rwanda is committed to working with Expogroup to ensure that the exhibition is successfully hosted.”

Build Talk 17 Africa will consist of a series of seminars, presentations, and workshops about key issues and regulations that affect the construction aftermarket, and the African Buyer-Seller Meet, connecting suppliers with buyers from the world’s second largest continent.

Block the date’s 22-24 November BuildExpo Rwanda 2017 will kick off its first event in Rwanda with a bang. Be there to be part of change.
