Cement firms seek alternative products

 Cement makers are exploring opportunities for alternative building materials with a view to diversifying their product offering in a bid to stay afloat in the competitive industry, a top official said yesterday.

 
Savannah Cement managing director Ronald Ndegwa said the industry hopes to increase production capacity for ready-mix concrete deliveries for small to large building projects.
 
This will complement the existing bagged cement sales.
 
“We are alive to the market dynamics and I can assure you that at Savannah Cement, we are not resting on our laurels as we continue to explore the possibility of diversifying our product range,” Ndegwa said. “We all need to play our part by beefing up customer experience standards.
