Algeria-China - Agreement for Construction of Cultural, Entertainment Complex in Algiers

Algiers — An agreement was signed, Thursday, between Algeria and China for the construction of a cultural and entertainment complex for youth in the municipality of Baraki (Algiers).

 
The signing ceremony took place in the presence of the minister of Housing, Urban Planning and the City, Abdelmajid Tebboune, the minister of Youth and Sports El Hadi Ould Ali, the Governor (Wali) of Algiers, Abdelkader Zoukh as well as Chinese ambassador to Algiers Yang Guangyu.
 
The agreement provides for the construction, by China, of a cultural and entertainment complex which covers an area of 10 hectares.
 
The cost of the project is expected to reach up to USD37 million, according to the advanced data by the minister.
 
On this occasion, Tebboune expressed Algeria's appreciation to China for this project which is added to others, including the Opera of Algiers (Ouled Fayat) and the training school in construction trades, which is underway in Blida.
 
For his side, the Chinese ambassador said that this project "reflects the deep friendship between the Algerian and Chinese people, and which has strengthened over the years to become a global strategic partnership."
