Tanzania: Huge scope for investment in Untapped Renewable Energy

 Renewable energy is one of the most untapped sectors in the country. Africa: Infrastructure Investment Is the Foundation for Economic Growth

Kenya: Africa’s biggest wind power project commences

China To Build 50MW Solar Power Plant In Kenya Amid Investment Boom

 China is set to construct a solar power plant in Kenya as part of an ongoing investment plan between the two countries, media reports said Sunday. The 50-megawatt plant, which is planned to be built in the city of Garissa, will be financed by the Export-Import Bank of China, reports said, citing China’s ambassador to Kenya, Liu Xianfa.   The project is reportedly set to be one of Africa’s largest solar power installations, and is part of a $5 billion.... Renewable power technology is on the rise

In North Africa, Egypt’s New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA) will soon call for interested bidders to submit proposals for the construction of solar and wind power plants with a total generation capacity exceeding 2,000MW. Tanzania To Enhance Tender System For Solar And Wind Power Projects

SEFA doubled its grant portfolio to small- to medium- sized clean energy projects in 2014

Solar and wind potential can help meet future power generation goals

More Kenyans in rural areas applying for cheap power connection

Gas pipeline for trial operation this month

Kenya is building Africa’s biggest wind energy farm to generate a fifth of its power

Kenya set in motion the construction of Africa’s biggest wind power farm this week, near Laisamis, 550km north of Kenya’s capital Nairobi. Known as the Lake Turkana Wind Power Project, the wind farm site covers 40,000 acres (162km2), which will be powered by the ‘Turkana Corridorwind.’ It is a low-level jet stream originating from the Indian Ocean and blows all year round.
