Chinese Investors to Build Livingstone Trade Centre in Africa

 Consortium investors from Tianjin, Northern China have pledged to establish an international procurement centre in Livingstone to facilitate the buying and export of Zambian products to China and possible markets.

 
A business delegation which is in Zambia to explore investment opportunities in the country have also pledged to invest more than US$20 million to establish manufacturing plants for various machines and products in Zambia.
 
Delegation leader who is chairperson for Tianjin Chamber of Commerce and Industry in China Liu Vao Gang said his organisation has more than 30,000 companies which are members of it adding that some of them are ready to establish manufacturing plants in the country as well as help facilitate trade.
 
Mr Liu was speaking when his delegation called on Commerce Trade and Industry Minister Margaret Mwanakatwe at her office in Lusaka, yesterday.
 
Mr Liu said among the industries to be set up will be bicycle, water pump and Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) assembly plants among them.
