East Africa: Get 38 tonnes of seeds distributed in semi-arid regions

 The county government has started distributing over 38 tonnes of maize, millet, sorghum and cowpeas to farmers in Mbeere North and Mbeere South. Governor Martin Wambora said the exercise will enable more farmers to access the input thus help to improve agricultural production in the county. Tanzania: Mahindra to Open Tractor Factory in Zanzibar

 Mahindra company from India is planning to open a tractor assembling plant here, Zanzibar President, Dr Ali Mohamed Shein, revealed here yesterday. Dr Shein said negotiations with the Indian company were currently going on. A new airport in Africa set to be constructed

Sudan, Saudi Arabia Discuss Minerals Exploration in the Red Sea

Sudan and Saudi Arabia on Tuesday have discussed exploration of mineral resources in the common area between the two countries in the Red Sea. JRA adopts Web-based system to improve infrastructure maintenance

A recently introduced Smart City solution has enabled the Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) to develop a complete view of the city’s roads inventory, with over 1.6-million images and 700 000 locations of JRA assets being captured onto the system for tracking, monitoring and management. KKR to invest $100 million in Africa within a year, make Nigeria regional base

 U.S. private equity firm KKR & Co LP is considering investing around $100 million in Africa within a year, a senior executive said on Tuesday.
