Ugandan farmers to benefit in $4m euro project

The Technical Centre for Agriculture and Rural Cooperation (CTA) have launched a 4.5 euro multi-year project in Uganda to benefit more than 350,000 smallholder farmers using satellite data to improve production and marketing of three value chains-maize, soya beans and simsim. India to Help Boost Kenya Healthcare

Kenya Improves in World Bank's Investment Destination List

 Kenya's ranking as an investment destination has improved, largely due to the introduction of Huduma Centres and a campaign to increase electricity connections.   Huduma Centres are one-stop shops where a wide array of government services are offered.   The World Bank's Ease of Doing Business Index 2016 released Wednesday ranked Kenya as the third most improved nation in business regulatory reforms among 189 economies.   The report placed Kenya at position.... East Africa Improves in Investment Destination Ranking

 Uganda's move to allow online registration of businesses, make faster electricity connections and expand access to credit information, have improved the country as an investment destination.   This is according to the World Bank Doing Business Report 2016, released on Wednesday. AfDB gives Zambia US$30mn to support cassava producers

The African Development Bank (AfDB) has approved a loan of US$30mn to the government of Zambia for the Skills Development and Entrepreneurship Project The project is designed to promote job creation, gender equality and poverty reduction amongst young cassava producers in the country. US$12mn grant for maize production in sub-Saharan Africa

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) has received a US$12mn grant to boost maize production in Nigeria, Ethiopia and Tanzania in the next four years IITA has received the money in collaboration with the Taking Maize Agronomy to Scale in Africa (TAMASA) project, and the grant has been given by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
