Rwanda Mining professionals trained on modern mining

 The government of Rwanda considers mining sector as key in the country development, the sector is now second largest contributor to national economy after tourism. Rwanda Natural Resources Authority considers the Mining sector as greatest opportunity for the country’s economy. In order to promote good practice in mining the department of Mining organized a five days training for mining professionals that took place in Eastland Hotel, Kayonza district. The training focused on Mineral exploration, mining methods, mineral processing, blasting, environment protection, Health and Safety, Mining project financing etc……

 
While officially closing the training KAYUMBA Francis, Director of mining inspection unit in the department of Mining emphasized on best mining practices in mining. He calls for safety in mining and protection of mining sites. He further said that sustainable promotion of the activities of artisanal, small and large scale mining in Rwanda can only be effectively realized if players understand methods to solve various problems encountered in this sector. This involves dealing with mining best practices in terms of techniques, health and safety, environmental protection and other practices that can lead to sustainable development in the mining sector.
 
Professionals minors through their representative showed their motivation to put in place what their have learnt in the training and best practices they have learnt in different mining sites in Eastern province.
 
Mining sector is one of the key sectors for investment; it is now attracting different investors from around the world and from Rwanda.
