Expo Rwanda 2017

Rwanda’s economy is growing at a fast rate. One of the fastest growing economies in Central Africa, Rwanda notched up GDP growth of around 8% per year between 2001 and 2014.

The International Monetary Fund expects the economy to slow down this year and pick up in 2018, forecasting around 6% growth in 2016 compared with 6.9% last year.

The IMF said Rwanda’s growth in 2015 was driven by construction, services, agriculture and manufacturing, but mining exports have slowed.

Currently around 83% of Rwanda's population of 10.5 million lives in rural areas and more than 70% of the population still work in subsistence farming. But the government, led by President Paul Kagame, wants to change this.

In the long term, the government aims to transform Rwanda from a low-income agriculture-based economy to a knowledge-based, service-oriented economy with a middle-income status by 2020.
With a population of nearly 12 Million people, Rwanda is an active member of the East African Community (EAC) making it part of a consumer market of over 140 million people. The World Bank ranks Rwanda third in Africa for ease of doing business. Its economy has been growing over 8% over the last decade and the MO Ibrahim index ranks Rwanda as the most consistent country in Africa in form of good governance improvements over the last decade.

This upward trend has been welcomed by the best global Multi Sector players, as they ready themselves for the return of Africa’s Prime Multi-Sector Products, Equipments and Machinery Expo.
From November 22 – 24 Expo Group will bring to you the Expo Rwanda 2017 where more than 100 exhibitors from 22 countries will showcase their latest wares to thousands of trade buyers and decision makers from throughout the Middle East, Africa, and further afield.

The aim of Expo Rwanda is to create an enabling environment where private sector firms and organizations can lead growth and drive African industries into global competitiveness.
