The 3rd Ethiopia International Trade Exhibition 2020 at Addis Ababa

The 3rd edition of Ethiopia International Trade Exhibition is back at Millennium Hall in Addis Ababa, the one place to source new products, services and technology from around the world. The 3 day multi country international trade event brings to Ethiopia exhibitors from 32 countries. The main attractions this time around are the European and Asian Pavilions showcasing the latest products and innovations which are now being made available to the Ethiopian industries.

Ethiopia in 2020 and beyond - Ethiopia is one of the world’s largest untapped markets and is the fastest growing economy in Africa today. With a population of over 100 million and an annual economic growth rate of 10% over the past 15 years, it presents a unique opportunity. In addition to its strategic positioning as a long-haul transfer hub, Ethiopia is increasingly becoming an important destination for manufacturing. With the African Continental Free Trade Area Agreement (AfCFTA) also in force, companies are looking at another opportunity at increasing exports to Africa.

Highlighting key sectors to promote and introduce new products equipment and services to the upcoming Ethiopian market is the primary goal for the trade exhibition. Held concurrently with the Ethiopia International Trade Exhibition, sectors include building and construction, lighting, heavy equipment, tools and hardware, woodworking and sawmill machinery, large automotive and spare parts, power and energy, consumer products, food and agriculture, materials printing, packaging and more. The event promises to introduce the Ethiopian market to world class industry leading products and services under one roof.

The much awaited 2020 edition will be open from 24th February at 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM for the public till 26th of February 2020. Ambassadors, trade delegations and representatives from various countries and ministries are confirmed to be present to meet and support the companies representing their countries at the event.

The 2020 edition is expected to see special pavilion participation by companies from China, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Italy, India, Qatar, Malaysia, Russia, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Companies from the African continent especially from Kenya, South Africa and Ethiopia are also participating among the worlds’ leading global brands.

The 2nd Ethiopia International Trade Exhibition Concludes A Successful 3 Day Mission In Addis Ababa

The EITE Ethiopia Exhibition held at Millennium Hall in Addis Ababa was successfully concluded on 23rd March 2019. Inaugurated by H. E. Ambassador Misganu Arega State Minister for Ministry of Trade, Government of Ethiopia along with H.E. Mr. Abdullah Al Saleh, Undersecretary of UAE Ministry of Economy and Hon. Mr. Martin Tlapa, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, the event focused on catering to the demand for quality building and construction – equipment, materials and products in Ethiopia, which at 8.5% is one of the fastest growing economies in the world. EITE Ethiopia showcased products and machinery used globally in the building and construction, automotive and spare parts, power and energy, consumer products, food, agriculture, healthcare, printing, packaging and more. The building sector in Ethiopia has seen double digit growth, expanding by 37% annually, and is ushering in a new phase of development for the country.
The 3 day multi country international trade event in Ethiopia hosted exhibitors from 32 countries. Showcasing the latest products and innovations which are now being made available to the Ethiopian industries the event was headlined by a massive contingent of companies forming the U.A.E pavilion which was supported by the Ministry of Economy of the United Arab Emirates and the German Pavilion supported by the Bavarian Ministry of Economy. This special pavilion was followed closely by companies from China, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Italy, India, Turkey, Qatar, Malaysia, Russia, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Companies from the African continent especially from Kenya, South Africa and Ethiopia also participated among the worlds’ leading global brands.

The various dignitaries in attendance included H.E. Mr. Mohammad Salem Al Rashidi, Hon. Mr. Martin Tlapa, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, accompanied by H.E. Mr. Pavel Mikeš, Ambassador of the Embassy of Czech Republic, H.E. Mrs. Brita Wagener, Ambassador of the Embassy of Germany, H.E. Mr. Luiz Eduardo de Aguiar Villarinho Pedroso, Ambassador of the Embassy of Brazil, H.E. Mr. Hoon-min Lim Ambassador of the Embassy of Republic Of Korea, H.E. Mr. Osama Mahmoud Abdelkhalek, Ambassador of the Embassy of Egypt, H.E. Mr. Md. Monirul Islam, Ambassador of the Embassy of Bangladesh, H.E. Mr. Dieudonné Ndabarushimana Ambassador of the Embassy of Burundi, H.E. Mr. Promise S. Msibi, Ambassador of the Embassy of Eswatini, H.E. Mr. Drahomir Stos, Ambassador of the Embassy of Slovakia, H.E. Mr. Sumith Dassanayake, Ambassador of the Embassy of Sri Lanka, H.E. Mr. Albert Ranganai Chimbindi, Ambassador of the Embassy of Zimbabwe. The dignitaries also met and extended their support to the companies representing their countries at the event.

At the much awaited 2019 edition H. E. Ambassador Misganu Arega addressed ambassadors, trade delegations and representatives from various countries and ministries present at the venue. He said, “The trade exhibition provides an important opportunity for the business community in Ethiopia to gather at one place and time. It involves exchanges of ideas, opinions, experience and a discussion of available potential opportunities and expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation between its participants.” On the progress made by Ethiopia among the world leaders, His Excellency also reiterated that As Ethiopia is fast emerging to become a free demand based economy, the government is devoting a high share of its budget to trade development programs and investments.”
